according to some peeps who have been to Singapore, the Mustafa Mall near Little India and Farrer Park is the best mall to go if you are looking for some cheap-affordable local and imported chocolates.
The mall looks like Isettan (Recto). It's huge though, it has around 3-4 floors, the ground flr is where the grocery is located. Here you'll find varieties of chocolates, such as Vergani, Nestle products, Singapore Prodcuts and more more!
My favorite is "roxy"- I can't hardly find this chocolate in the internet. I got to taste this chocolate as a pasalubong from my mom who went to SG last August 2011. 1 pack of Roxy (brand holder is Vergani- it is German brand of round milk chocolate with nougat inside) costs around $14-16( in Philippine peso-depending on the conversion would cost Php 460-550) 1 pack has 75 pcs. so it's around 7.00 plus per piece. not bad na for it's taste.
The other chocolate that I find cheap is the La Suissa. Is has lots of varieties, we tried the blue one. Milk chocolate flavored din. It is an Itallian chocolate. 1 pack contains around 140-150 pcs, very small in shape and size. It has also the similar price as with Roxy.
I got to see other stuff as well-which you can find in 7-evelen stores and groceries in the Philippines-i didnt focus in comparing the price coz i dont have plans of buying those- Kitkat, Cadbury, Hershey's prodcuts, M&Ms etc. But for sure, it's cheaper to buy it here in Mustafa than in SG Duty Free. One thing for sure din-is the Vergani products are not available in Duty Free.
Depending on your budget and your craving for chocolate-would serve as basis on your enjoyment in this store. Me, i spent around 1,500Php for chocolates (most of it are pasalubong for my families, etc).
Sad thing was: I went back to Mustafa on my last day at SG. It was Thursday morning, around 830. I heard and seen on Internet that this mall is 24/7 open. Yet, I was so dissatisfied to have find out it was still closed at 9AM. My flight is before lunch so I decided to get back to the hotel instead of waiting for the Mustafa Mall to officially open at 10AM.
